Give your car, boat, truck or RV a fantastic shine with the minimum of effort.
There are so many products out there that it is very difficult for a consumer to know what to buy. Many products baffle you with the technical terms, claims and imagery they use. Let me start by first pointing out that there are many good and many bad products out there. Polishing your car, truck, boat or RV is easy with the right product and will protect your investment. Also have lots of good polishing cloths such as 100% lint free cotton terry towels or even better microfiber cloths or soft sponge applicators with you before you start waxing or polishing your car, truck or boat.
Toady's paint finishes for cars are much more durable and with the base coat clear coat finishes that most new cars have, all one has to do is find a good car wax or polish that is silicone free and abrasive free. Silicone based waxes attract dust and heat and will damage your cars finish faster than anything else. Unfortunately most waxes and car polishes contain silicones because they help give the car a high gloss shine as soon as it is applied, but a few hours later the shine fades away, the surface attracts dust and you have to wax your car again. So choose a good silicone free polish or wax with no abrasives and do not get distracted by advertisements recommending first a pre-cleaner and then wax and then a sealer or glaze. You do not need to buy 3 or 4 products to get your car or boat in shining shape. A good soap to remove any dust particles etc. and a good wax or polish is all you really need.
The essentials in waxing or polishing your car or boat etc. is first to clean the surface with a good car or boat soap which is not too harsh. This will help remove any dust particles that may be on the surface. By doing this one will avoid scratching the surface when you apply the polish or wax with the applicator or micrfofiber cloth.
Most car waxes and car polishes cannot be applied in the sun, however there are some unique car polishes like the HI Gloss 707 and Quick Gloss instant detailer from Germany available through Parasol Inc. www.parasolinc.com that are very easy to use and can be applied in almost any weather condition and even in direct sunlight up to 100 C in temperature. This product is silicone free and non abrasive and will clean, polish and protect your car all in one application. It will also help remove tree sap, bird droppings, insects, road tar and more from the surface without damaging the paint.
After washing your car or boat you can wipe the surface dry with a microfiber towel or PVA absorbing sponge. Skipping this step will defeat the most thorough, painstaking wash. Dry only with a clean microfiber cloth or PVA absorbing sponge or chamois that's intended specifically for drying. There are also a number of blowers that will quickly and effectively do the work for you. Either way, drying the vehicle is essential to fending off water spots, an effect of acid rain. Once the surface is dry you are ready to use your amazing polish to give your car or boat that beautiful show room shine.
Pour some (a little more than the size of a quarter) of Hi Gloss 707 onto a damp microfiber cloth and spread it evenly on to the surface you are polishing. Make sure that the microfiber cloth or applicator is not wet, just a little damp. This helps the polish go on more evenly all over. It is OK to rub Hi Gloss 707 polish into the surface by applying a little pressure (not too hard) to spread it as evenly as possible on the surface.
Pour some more Hi Gloss 707 on to the microfiber cloth and do another section of the car or boat and continue this till you have done the entire car, truck or boat. Some people prefer to apply the product on to a small area and polish or buff it off and then move on to the next area. This is important when you use waxes or polishes that stick to the surface and do not come off easily if left on the surface too long especially on a hot day. You can apply Hi Gloss 707 on to the entire surface and polish it off all at once or do it section by section. If you do not apply too thick a coat of Hi Gloss 707 on to the surface it will not cake like most other waxes or polishes and will come off easily. We applied the product to the entire car and let it haze off and then removed it all with another clean microfiber cloth. It came off easily and left an incredible shine. (Tip; Use the microfiber waffle weave to dry the surface after washing it and also to apply the products. Then switch to the Super deluxe microfiber terry towel to buff it off to a beautiful shine. This combination of microfiber cloths seems to work the best and without any effort)
After applying the polish let the surface dry for a few minutes till you see a haze on the surface. Take another couple of clean microfiber cloths and polish off the haze that has been left behind. Once the haze has been buffed off the surface you will be astounded on how easy and how quickly you were able to get a professional looking shine with the right silicone free car polish and the right cleaning materials.
Regular application of 2 to 3 times a year will help keep your car/boat/truck looking great. One bottle if Hi Gloss 707 will do at least 8 to 10 cars depending on size of car. This is a small investment in time and material compared to the value of your car/boat etc. and well worth it because not only does it protect your investment, but leaves it looking great. Note: You can apply Hi Gloss polish as often as you like. It does not build up like regular car wax and will not leave a hazy shine on the surface if applied every month or even every week. The more often you apply it the deeper the shine will become as it will also remove any oxidation (if the paint is old) from the surface if it is there.
